Raises the user's Special Attack by two stages.Įgg: Appears on a newly-hatched Pokémon, if the father had the same move. Lowers the target's Attack by two stages. Level up, learned by Pichu but not Raichu Reduces damage from special attacks by 50% for five turns. User receives 1/4 the damage it inflicts in recoil. Has a 100% chance to paralyze the target. Power is higher when the user has greater Speed than the target, up to a maximum of 150. Level up, learned by Pikachu but not Raichu Inflicts regular damage with no additional effect. Lowers the target's Defense by one stage. Level up: Learned when a Pokémon reaches a certain level. Pal Park Area Forest Score 90 Rate 3 MovesĮlectric moves get STAB, and have their type highlighted in green. One theory is that the electricity buildup is actually causing stress.īecause so many Trainers like the way Pikachu looks, you don’t see this Pokémon very often. At such times, even its Trainer has to take care to avoid being attacked.Īs electricity builds up inside its body, it becomes more aggressive. It becomes aggressive when it has electricity stored up. When agitated, it can knock out even an Indian elephant. It unleashes electric shocks that can reach 100,000 volts. Raichu plants its tail in the ground to discharge electricity. This Pokémon exudes a weak electrical charge from all over its body that makes it take on a slight glow in darkness. Scorched patches of ground will be found near this Pokémon’s nest. If the electrical sacs become excessively charged, Raichu plants its tail in the ground and discharges. It can loose 100,000-volt bursts of electricity, instantly downing foes several times its size. When its electricity builds, its muscles are stimulated, and it becomes more aggressive than usual. Surf: It's a good coverage move, but it's only obtainable from an event which means you'd be stuck with Static as an ability and it's pretty hard to find these days. Its tail discharges electricity into the ground, protecting it from getting shocked. Grass Knot: hits water ground types and certain ground type a lot harder Hidden Power Ice and Focus Blast provide the best overall coverage. The rest are just coverage slots, so use whatever your team needs. Use Nasty Plot to boost our friend from Kanto's power to frightening levels of awesome and give it an easier time taking down your enemy's walls and sweeping everything up. The possible SpA boost and immunity to damage from your enemies electric type attacks is just awesome. This is always the ability you should be using if it all possible. If the Pokémon is Ground-type, moves are drawn to it, but it gets no boost. Electric-type moves will do no damage and the Pokémon's SP ATK is raised one stage. Lightningrod: Electric-type moves are drawn to this Pokémon. Only take this ability if you have to like if you're using an event Raichu carrying Surf. Static: The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with PARALYZE when using an attack, that requires physical contact, against this Pokémon. it's impossible to get as a Gen 7 native Pokémon outclassed by its cousin from the Alola Region it's still weak to a lot of common threats and hasn't gained much to combat them it's nowhere near as frail as Pikachu, but it's still pretty frail except on the SpD side + alot of same exclusive moves and event moves that Pikachu has access to like Volt Tackle and Surf. + some good utility options too like Fake Out, Feint and Encore + Functions pretty well as a late game wallbreaker and has access to Nasty Plot + Decent Base 90 SpA and access to good lots of good coverage moves Also it's not anywhere near as frail as well, and it's still can be somewhat useful even with Alolan Raichu surfing around if you play it correctly. From its Base 110 Spe, or just the fact that it doesn't need an exclusive item like Light Ball to be effective so it's way more versatile and effective. It outclasses Pikachu in literally every way. First off is our friend, the classic Kanto Raichu, and in my opinion Pokémon's proper mascot. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime on Saturday, on this episode of the Pokémon Of The Week we'll be bringing you a special triple Pikachu/Raichu combo feature. At such times, even its Trainer has to take care to avoid being attacked.
